The Cottage is replacing Escape's well-known Cabaña. La Florida farm in the small town of Acevedo is nestled in the heart of Southern Huíla which is home to some of the best terroir for growing high-quality coffee in the entire country of Colombia. Gilberto Rojas been operating la Finca La Florida for over 40 years refining his growing and processing methods year after year which brought him a second place in the 2015 Cup of Excellence. 

 

Gilberto grows red and yellow Colombia varietals, these smaller lots would have been sold locally for very low prices and mixed into large, non-traceable regional blends. By keeping them separate, our partner Apex was able to ensure that Gilberto was paid fairly for his coffees. We are delighted from Gilberto’s hard work growing this coffee. Cottage is a vibrant coffee, sweet as a pear dipped in caramel with the right amount of bite from the green grape acidity. 

 

This freshly cropped coffee will make every morning a cottage morning either you drink it as espresso, filter, pour over or cold brew.
