What’s Café Saint-Henri's story?
On January 1, 2011, at 11:11 a.m., the first Café Saint-Henri branch was inaugurated (you guessed it) in the eponymous Montreal neighbourhood. We are the very first micro-roaster to be established in Quebec and to introduce Quebecers to specialty coffee. For more than 10 years now, we have been purchasing microlots of superior quality coffee directly from our producer partners which are then roasted by our master craftsmen in Montreal. These purchases at source provide unparalleled quality in addition to ensuring a better income for coffee growers, while allowing us to offer a detailed breakdown of prices for maximum transparency between the various actors in the supply chain. Our philosophy is to always highlight these coffee growers, without whom we would not have these exceptional coffees.
Why did you choose coffee? Because we wanted to share the world of flavors found in specialty coffee with the Quebec population as well as all the wealth of coffee grower know-how.
What’s your "Tt factor"? The particular attention we pay to each step, from the selection of our producer partners to the preparation of the perfect cup, including roasting that highlights the richness of the terroir from which the beans come.
